A performing-arts venue run by the Regional Government of Andalusia since 2005, through the Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions, on the El Ejido hill next to the University of Málaga. With 370 seats – plus the Sala Gades, specialising in dance – the Teatro Cánovas is a leading venue for contemporary theatre, dance and the performing arts for family, children's and young audiences, with an adventurous, auteur-led programme throughout the season.
