Flamenco Shows in Málaga

Flamenco was born in Andalusia, and Málaga is one of the places where you can still see it performed live, in theatres rather than in tourist shows staged purely for visitors. UNESCO recognised flamenco as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010, and the art form keeps evolving here: alongside the traditional cante and baile, Málaga's stages also programme contemporary choreographers who use flamenco as a starting point for something newer.

You'll find flamenco at very different kinds of venue around the city: grand 19th-century theatres such as Teatro Cervantes, smaller contemporary spaces such as Teatro Cánovas, and more intimate cabaret-style rooms such as La Cochera Cabaret. Prices and formats vary accordingly, from a handful of euros for an emerging artist's show to tickets for a major touring production.

Flamenco is sung as well as danced, so some shows lean more on the cante (singing) than others – each listing below notes whether you'll need any Spanish to follow it, or whether it's primarily a dance performance you can enjoy either way.

Below are the flamenco shows currently coming up that we've translated into English; our full listings, in Spanish, cover many more.
