Teatro del Soho CaixaBank

The Teatro del Soho CaixaBank is the major theatre project of Málaga-born actor Antonio Banderas, who founded it in 2019 in the heart of the Soho district as his way of giving something back to the city that shaped him. With around 840 seats and a stage equipped to the highest standard, it's now the city's leading venue for large-scale musicals and in-house productions.

Its stage has seen top-level productions such as A Chorus Line, Company, Gypsy and Godspell, many directed by or starring Banderas himself, with a production standard comparable to Broadway or the West End. Alongside musicals, it also programmes spoken theatre, stand-up comedy, dance, flamenco and concerts.

Banderas and the Soho's commitment have transformed Málaga's cultural life: drawing in talent, professionalising the local performing-arts scene – with its own school and new generation of artists – and turning the city into a national benchmark for the performing arts, while also energising the whole Soho neighbourhood around it.
