Several dates — Teatro Cervantes, Málaga
The Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra's (OFM) Christmas Concert plays Teatro Cervantes in Málaga on 17 and 18 December 2026 at 8pm, part of its 2026–27 subscription season. Conducted by José María Moreno, with soprano Berna Perles and the Málaga Opera Choir, prepared by Pablo Guzmán.
The programme celebrates Christmas from several angles. It opens with the Suite from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker (1892), the Christmas music par excellence: the March, the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Russian, Arabian and Chinese dances, and the Waltz of the Flowers – tunes that are part of the shared memory of adults and children alike.
Soprano Berna Perles performs a selection from Richard Strauss's Vier Lieder, songs of extraordinary vocal beauty that reveal the German composer's most intimate, lyrical side.
The second half gives the choir the leading role, with a Christmas selection by Dan Forrest, one of the most performed American choral composers today, and John Rutter's Gloria (1974), a festive, radiant work with brass and percussion that has become a holiday classic the world over.
An ideal way to start the festive season in Málaga with live music. Tickets from €12 (up to €36) at the Teatro Cervantes box office and through Unientradas.
From Thursday 17 December 2026 to Friday 18 December 2026.
